Popular wedding photography locations in Uzbekistan

In the life of the Uzbeks, from birth till the dying day, no event is as significant as wedding. Nearly everyone gets married and, despite the huge cost, all the newlyweds yearn for an extraordinary wedding.

Uzbek wedding parties embark on grand tours of Uzbekistan’s ancient cities, (Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva) armed with camera crews and copious relatives – but aside from them, you’ll only find a handful of tourists in every major site.

Walking in the ancient cities among magnificent mosques, minarets, and madrassahs, you’re bound to spot  a common sight in Uzbekistan,  young newlyweds promenading in the streets on their wedding day.

Wherever we go, we saw several couples having their wedding photos made. It’s refreshing to visit a place where domestic tourists far out-number international ones, and the wedding groups are always in the party spirit.

These anciet places are full of many opportunity for great photography. With so many great spots, I feel like I could spend years n Uzbekistan and still barely scratch the surface of its potential.
